SKEW SISKIN To Record German-Language Album
January 27, 2005German hard rockers SKEW SISKIN are currently working on new material with famous German rock-star rebel Udo Lindenberg. For the first time in SKEW SISKIN history, the songs are in German language.
Commented SKEW SISKIN frontwoman Nina C. Alice: "With Udo I now have a partner for writing German lyrics.....with attitude! Similar to Lemmy [MOTÖRHEAD] writing with us for English language. I'm feeling at home creating in my mother tongue, this venture fits perfectly for me. And now it means that I won't get anymore of those, 'What did she sing?????' looks from the audience when we play here in Germany!!"
The band played unannounced test shows (singing in the German language) at two of Udo's concerts. The first show took place in Riesa, which was a rehearsal in front of 800 select fans of "Udo Lindenberg and his PANIK ORCHESTRE," and the second concert in Berlin happened on December 5 at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in front of around 3,000 people.
Alice explained: "The plan is to record a whole album with approximately 10 songs. We already have six songs in the pocket and keep writing more as we speak. We're looking for a suitable record company to finance this project. The album is going to be wild, rebellious, mean and a new style for Germany's rock audience. And beware: it's going to be e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g but nice! For later this year, we’re planning a tour with Udo plus some festivals in the summer. We're also writing material for our fifth upcoming album in English language. Lemmy Kilmister from MOTÖRHEAD, one of my coolest partners in writing rock 'n' roll lyrics, will be working with me again. More about this soon. Watch out."
